It gave me options like:

Getting paid for turning up (basic salary) and earning money while i’m there (commission and bonus).

Being able to choose how much I earn at the end of the month.

Having control over my future and the things that I want.

Seeing rewards and recognition for my hardwork.

Having the thrill of achieving my objectives

and the list goes on….

What I found in the early years was, that I was working hard but not getting great rewards for my efforts.

I was following practices taught to me and offering products to clients, but it was never a comfortable sale for both myself and the client.

I found so many clients taking away information and not committing to the purchase.

Does this sound familiar?

This situation was very annoying and I was getting increasingly frustrated and demotivated when this happened.

The breakthrough came when I realised that I was asking questions but they were not the right questions.

I was offering product but not necessarily what the client needed but more what I was told to sell.

It was time for me to take a look at my sales strategy and re-visit, why I was in sales and what I wanted to achieve.

The only way, was to ask the right questions, listen more and offer the client what they needed.

This was the solution and as a result, the clients were happier because they had a person selling to them, who understood their needs completely.

I was happy because I was able to achieve the business needs in terms of sales targets and my own needs of making sales fun and every sale a different and unique experience for myself and the client.

This change mean’t, I was getting referals of guaranteed sales, a queue of clients waiting only to see me and a pay cheque to match.

Sales doesn’t have to be hard if you have the right strategy and strategy is something you can learn very easily.

Happy days.

Or like so many people, haven’t even thought about what is important in a long time?

Are you neglecting to take the action, that would make you happier?

I have just completed a session with a client and felt that I should share a simple tip.

Make a list of 9 things that are important to you and your life and then put that list in a place you would look at every morning, this will remind you to make sure that you give time in your every day to the things that are dear to you. It is then up to you to make the time and become a happier you.

It’s simple, just TAKE ACTION to DO the things you really want to do, and BE the person want to be and HAVE the things that we really want to have.

Have a fantastic day
I felt I understood this statistic completely. I began thinking about the time that Aran was born. I could clearly see that widwives were stretched for time, Some of them looked so stressed that you daren’t ask them for help. Health visits seemed to be a in and out thing, no stopping for a chat. I was at a loss as to whom to ask for help. I had felt so alone at times and the sleepless nights were really sapping my energy. I just didn’t know how to manage my day. I was finding it hard to juggle normal life and that was really not like me at all. To be honest it took a while for me to feel myself again.

Having a baby changes a womens life forever and the adjustments and transition would so much smoother if the support was there from someone ‘in the know’ and someone who understands. It is absolutely crucial that women at this time should feel supported and understood. Bringing a baby into the world is a truely amazing experience, but as mothers we have the need to feel that we are dotting the I’s and crossing the T’s with everything. It’s support, encouragement and confidence that we need to make sure we are doing the best for ourselves and for our baby.

This is where the help of a life coach can really help put all of your concerns into perspective and this is truely the answer. You need a structure and plan to follow, someone to help you thrash out those voices in your head, time for you and support to keep your state of mind confident and in control.

Your baby deserve the best of you, does it not? You deserve to be the best mum for your baby, do you not? That’s right, you both deserve the best and the best is what you’re going to get when working with a coach. Ladies, you must invest in your well being and that of your new born.

Like an olympic athlete winning gold for his country, you can win gold for being the best mum for your baby and the best women for you.

All the very best

Life coaching has become very popular in Britain where it is enjoying massive growth as more and more people discover the advantages it can bring to their lives.

Life coaching in simple terms is a process of helping people to move from where they are now to where they want to be. It is a practical, forward looking way for an individual to gain clarity on what they don’t like and what they can do to bring about meaningful changes. It’s also a powerful support system to keep a person moving in the right direction.

Coaching is a partnership designed to make use of the knowledge, information, synergy, and talents people bring to a problem solving process.

Coaching provides a confidential, non judgemental, impartial and completely personalised support structure that enables the individual to achieve far more than they ever could on their own. Because the one to one situation creates a synergy that in turn brings about exponential benefits.

As kids we had parents holding us to account and pushing us forward. At school we had teachers help us get through academics. As adults we have Coaches to help us excel in living to our fullest potential.

Coaching sessions can be held on the telephone, internet, face to face or in groups. Sessions take place once a week. Some people have one session; some have a course of 12 sessions. Others may stay on for many months, lowering the frequency of visits as their goals and progress become clearer.

Coaching may involve the client in assignments, which allow them to enhance their learning in some way.

A coach is the person who helps you be at the top of your game in life. It is used in so many areas of life and by so many people.

Life coaching can be applied in the work place, home, finances, social life, partners, dreams, work/life balance, spirituality and health.

Take a few moments out to consider your own life. Is there one area of it that you need to pay attention to and where you might benefit from a change in direction?

If there is an area of your life that can benefit from coaching if so then leave a comment below and let me know what you are thinking.

From very small children young girls learn to shy away from power, it is regarded traditionally as a masculine trait and it positive benefits are denied. That means women do not learn to use power, they are taught that power is manipulative and a bad thing. Yet power per se is benign its how you use it that is interesting.

Why does power have such a bad rep, especially for women? Some people think it means controlling others, others believe it leads to corruption, still others shy away from the attention that comes when it’s used.

I like to focus on the positives of power:

It can get you from one place to another

It makes things glow

It allows you to step out and claim what’s rightfully yours

And, the successful embracing of your own personal power can lead to all three of these.

Many women have had to search for their own personal power. After years of cultural, familial, or societal conditioning, their personal power ends up buried somewhere-under some internal rock, inside someone else’s expectations, or in an alter ego who may or may not be hidden.

Personally, I consider myself lucky. I’ve always known I am powerful. My challenge has been to use it wisely. To keep it bottled up and not let it come shooting out of the ends of my fingers (or, more likely, from my barbed tongue) at the drop of a hat. “Pick your battles,” is some of the best advice I’ve ever received.

When I used my power indiscriminately, I alienated people, limited my self, and generally made my life more difficult. I focused my power on tearing things or other people down, rather than on creating things and building people up. What’s the difference now? In short, stuff happens.

I have more and better ideas, because there’s enough space in my brain for them to come in. It’s no longer chock full of plans to win all those unimportant battles (like how I’m going to get my daughter, Elisabeth, to clean up her room or how I’m going to look better than my co-worker).

I attract really interesting people into my life. By stepping out and using my personal power to create instead of tear down, I’m meeting people with similar goals, and we’re working on ways to help each other change the world. I do more than I ever thought I could.

Are you feeling the twinges of your own current of personal power yet? Wondering how to get started wiring (or re-wiring) your self to step out and lead your self to greatness? How about creating your Personal Power Manifesto?

A manifesto, you say? Isn’t that too radical? A manifesto is merely “a public written declaration of principles, policies, and objectives” (as defined by the Encarta dictionary). It’s just a list of what you believe, how you’ll behave, and what you’ll achieve. Is it the “public” part that’s scaring you? Well, you can start with just writing it and printing it out. Get it out of your head and onto paper. Keep it somewhere where you can see it regularly. As you get more comfortable with it, share it with others.

The great benefit of a manifesto is the clarity it brings. By writing it down, you more clearly define what you want and how you want to get it. And the increased clarity makes it easier to find, achieve, and/or attract what you want.

To get you started, there’s an example at the end of this article. Feel free to edit it however you like. Once you’ve done it, then share it. Post it on your blog, put it on your web site or Facebook page, tweet about it.

And if you’re still balking at the concept of finding and using your personal power, I give you this quote from Elisabeth Kübler Ross:

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.

You have to have power to turn on your light.

Power Manifesto Example

I choose to find and embrace my personal power, as a key step in leading my own life. I will not wait for others to give me permission to use my personal power. The very fact that it is “personal” allows me, and only me, the right to decide where, when, and how to use it.

I will no longer keep my personal power bottled up. It just gets stale and nasty.

If I have not yet found my personal power, I commit to the sometimes difficult investigative work of locating it. I will ask myself tough questions, and look critically at my past experiences with my personal power.

If I find that my personal power has been hiding in an alter ego, I will embrace that alter ego, and welcome it into my life. I commit to integrating my alter ego into my own ego-it’s easier to live a single life rather than a double life.

I throw off others’ expectations of when and how to use my personal power. I trust that I actually do know what’s best for me, and will live up to my expectations of my self as the leader of my life.

I assist and encourage others in their discovery of their personal power, and I allow myself to ask for help on my own journey.

I celebrate all victories and accomplishments along the way. I give my self permission to step out, to be bold and brave, to make mistakes and learn from them.

I choose to be fair and judicious in using my personal power.

I choose to get comfortable with my personal power, and all its many benefits.

Many cities and states have award ceremonies for women they believe have achieved a great deal. Those women are called Women of Achievement. They have done something that sets them apart from others. They might be business giants, extraordinary volunteers or outstanding in other areas. They are the few that get recognized for what they have done. What about the rest of us? We go about our daily business doing extraordinary things all of the time but we do not look at our accomplishments as being extraordinary. Why is that? When you stop to think about it you will realize that what you do every day, the unique way you do what you do things is very extraordinary. There is only one you so lets celebrate that!

The month of September is designated Women of Achievement Month. I would like to see all women regard themselves as women of achievement. Let’s take a look at how you measure what you do and what you give to the world. If you are a parent you do one of the most extraordinary things any human can do on a daily basis – you shape and guide the growth of children. Stop for a moment and think back over the past year. What has your child accomplished over that period of time? Do you think that happened by chance? No – you were an integral part of your child’s growth. How extraordinary!

If you are a friend or relative again you do extraordinary things on a consistent basis. Once again, think back over the year. How have your relationships impacted other people? You were there for them, you made yourself available, you listened, you offered love and support. If that is not extraordinary I do not know what is.

There are so many roles we play in our lives. Take stock of yours and appreciate all of the extraordinary things you do while you are being who you are. Make a list of the things you now consider extraordinary. Keep your list going throughout the month of September. Be very aware of everything on your list, celebrate them and take some time to feel great about your achievements. September is your month to reflect and be aware of how very important you are in the lives of people around you. Their own lives would be lacking if they did not have you. Vow to carry yourself as a winner and appreciate what you give to the world.

Issues of self esteem are not always simple as women would like them to be. Women who are leaders in their industry have tremendous pressure to have good self esteem. Life knocks everyone’s self esteem anmd business pressures can make a self esteem feel shaky and as Consuelo advices below a mentor or a life coach can save you a lot of hardship.

If you are a woman leader, others look up to you for advise, wisdom, and action. Just being a woman in leadership doesn’t mean you don’t face self-esteem issues at times. Here are 7 self-esteem issues faced by many women in leadership positions.

1. Doubt. It’s not unusual to doubt yourself as a leader. Doubt comes from feeling that you’re not up to the task of being the one in charge. It’s important to remember that you don’t have to know everything. You just have to know enough to find the information you need to deal with the tasks in front of you at any moment.

2. Unfinished Projects. It is detrimental to your self-esteem to feel that your rarely get things finished. Leadership means needing to multitask but working on several projects at once can mean having a lot of loose ends at the same time too. It’s important to know when you have actually reached the end of what you are required to accomplish with any project. Sometimes, you have finished but don’t realize it because you delegated the final touches to someone else. You have to know what being finished means for any task. Make a list of your projects to see what’s really finished and what’s not. Do what you can and then move on.

3. Incomplete Ideas. Leaders are expected to come up with ideas. Others look for you to tell them what to do and to know how to solve problems. You might feel that you’re jumping from one idea to the next. In reality, you might be using several of your ideas but maybe not the complete idea as you originally thought of it. Leadership can move fast. Write down your ideas. Use the portions that fit with the issues at hand and save other portion of your good ideas fro another time, or let them go. Your creative mind will come up with new ideas when you need them.

4. Feel Like a Fake. Did leadership come very quickly to you? Maybe you made a statement that was inspiring or took the reigns on an important issue at just the right time and the rest of the people designated you the leader. If leadership came to you quickly you might not feel up to the task or even feel that you are a fake. You don’t have to remain in a leadership role forever. Complete the issue you were put in charge of and then move on. If you remain as the leader, build your leadership skills so you feel comfortable in the position.

5. Need a Mentor. Women in leadership often lack the support and mentoring that is given to men in leadership. This can cause you to feel alone and lonely when you’re making decisions that affect the lives of others. Seek your own mentors. It might start with reading a biography of another leader and gleaning leadership ideas. Look for leaders in your area and see if you can take her to lunch to discuss issues. There are ways to approach others to be your mentor or you can find an executive coach to help you along in a confidential manner.

6. Need Support. Being in a leadership role can be a time consuming task. It’s important to have support to do tasks and to take some of the load off your plate. Being overworked and worn out is bad for your self-esteem so do take the leadership initiative to do something about it. If you don’t already have help, be pro-active to select someone to work with you even if it’s in a volunteer position. The benefit to you will be relief from some tasks. The benefit to the other person is to get grooming for a future leadership role.

7. Stressed out. Being stressed for sustained periods of time affected your levels of confidence and self-esteem. Leadership can be a stressful position. The need to constantly make a decision, be in the spot light and have the right answers is stressful. As a leader you will need to take control of your schedule and find ways to manage your time to leave space for adequate self-care. If you don’t take care of you, no one else will. Step up the plate, know when to say no, and keep your health in tack to have a high self-self-esteem.

Being in the role of leadership means needing to solid self-esteem. Not all women in leadership have the self-esteem required to be a strong leader. But knowing some of the trouble areas can help you build your self-esteem. You will know how to make decisions that let you get the support and mentoring needed to have a good self-esteem for leadership success.

I have also trained in public speaking and can offer women a chance to shine in their line of work and in their lives with the techniques I have learnt and would like to pay forward to you. Public speaking is feared by so many women and as a result we have limited ourselves with the opportunities we could otherwise embrace. But no more, because we are all going to ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’. You will feel a sense of confidence you have never felt before and your self esteem will rise to new higher levels. That’s right, you will feel your inner power shine.

There is no greater reward than helping people to live a better life. I am a mother of two, Aran and Ria are my pride and joy and with the experience of continuing to raise two children, I am also offering mothers the chance to get the all important coaching needed to take the best possible steps in the first few months transition into motherhood.

Let’s take this journey to be, do and have anything you desire - together. Working with a coach was the best decision I have ever made and I want only the same for you.

Connecting with empowering women
